Hi,
I could send 5MB message with MQe without problem on desktop/10MB eithernet.

But I'm not sure if it will work on slow and unstable internet connection like 256KB ADSL.
Also, MQe will do continued send the 5MB data, or have to upload the data from the start again, after the network fail and start again?

BTW,
I heard that MQ could send large file on slow and unstable network, and it do continued sending data. Is MQe could do it also?

Thank you.

Hi Yang Jiang,

There is no limit specified on the message size in MQe however it is recommended to create messages of smaller size because if the connection breaks, the complete message is resent.

If the message is being sent using a synchronous remote queue and the connection breaks while sending the message, the message will be lost and the client application has to re-create the message and send it again. If the message is sent using an asynchronous remote queue from the client application to the remote MQe queue manager and the connection breaks while transmitting the message, the message on the remote MQe queue manager will be deleted and MQe will try to send the message again when the connection resumes.

I suggest you to have your own logic to split the large message at the client end and re-unite at the server end which can save message transmission time in fragile networks.

Hi Neeraj Krishna,

With your advice, my colleage program the MQe Client and server with great test result. :-D
1)MQe asynchronous messaging, disk adapter
2)own logic to split the large message at the client end and re-unite at the server end which can save message transmission time in fragile networks.

Thank for your complete understanding of my question, your analysis and solution!
Thank you very much!!!

Yang Jiang
